Love Yourself

To most fully share our light and love with the world, nourishing our own body, mind, and soul is essential. Today, think about the self-care routines that support your sense of wellbeing. Take some time to reflect upon the following:

What practices bring you peace, balance, and joy?184184_520870803860_2716028_n

Which of these practices do you do regularly?

Which ones do you wish you did more? And, what’s needed to help you do so?

These practices might be as simple as giving yourself a few minutes to stretch and breathe mindfully first thing in the morning or taking that break in middle of the day to get some fresh air and go for a walk. They might include a yoga or meditation practice, or making sure you receive regular balancing bodywork, such as acupuncture or massage. One common, nourishing practice we all prioritize here at Arogya is eating healthy, delicious food and taking the time to cook it ourselves whenever possible. On that note, surrounding one self with loving community supports self-care.

By saying yes to nouriIMG_0768shing yourself, you’ll find that you have more energy, are more productive, and have more love to share. In fact, in Chinese culture, it’s believed that the true medicine of life is treating non-disease. By doing so, we maintain our vibrational balance and our overall wellbeing.

As you focus more on the role self-care plays in your life today, we’d love to leave you with the following quote of Zen Buddhist Monk Thich Nhat Hanh:

“Self-understanding and self-love provide the foundation for understanding and loving another person. This is the first step: Going home to ourselves, taking care of ourselves, understanding ourselves, accepting ourselves, and being compassionate to ourselves.”
